Conflict
Support
This is a dynamic, practical and productive approach that can be useful in a variety of situations; in the workplace, in community disputes and in family disagreements.
Conflict Support is defined as a set of skills and strategies used to support individuals or a team’s ability to engage in, manage, or productively resolve conflict. It can be used as a stand-alone process, or practised with each of the participants in separate meetings during mediation.
Conflict support, assistance and encouragement helps people improve their knowledge, skills and abilities to manage conflict. It is an individualised process which can be used where mediation is not appropriate, or, for example, where one of the people involved in a dispute does not want to participate in, or engage with, mediation. It can also be used in certain post-mediation situations where a relationship remains strained.
